 | 01/24/05 - $3.2 Million In Grants From Catholic Community Foundaton Distributed Among 310 Organizations
ST. PAUL – The Catholic Community Foundation in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis distributed 310 grants totaling $3,184,982 during July through December 2004. Since inception, a total of $39 million in grants have been made by the Catholic Community Foundation to support the spiritual, educational and social needs of the community.
Of the $3.2 million distributed during the past six months, 42% of the grant money went to support education, 9% to parishes, 10% to seminaries, 25% to other religious organizations, and 14% to fund social services.
Grant distributions are from endowments, donor advised funds and other funds of the Foundation. A complete list of grants is shown below. When more than one distribution has been made to an organization, the total number of distributions is noted in parentheses.

The Catholic Community Foundation (www.catholiccommunityfoundation.org) is the nation’s largest community foundation serving Catholic philanthropy. The Foundation was established in 1992 to support financially the spiritual, educational and social needs of the Catholic community in the 12 county area of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. The Foundation currently manages assets in excess of $148 million and has distributed over $38 million in grants to the community. The Foundation works with donors to help them capitalize on the benefits of charitable planned giving, including the ability to reduce their taxes, receive a life income from their gift and leave a legacy for generations to come. More than 1,600 families have chosen to conduct their philanthropy with the Catholic Community Foundation by setting up donor advised funds, endowments, charitable gift annuities and trusts.
