 | 02/15/06 - $3.4 Million In Grants From The Catholic Community Foundation Distributed Among 363 Organizations
ST. PAUL – Three hundred and sixty-three grants totaling $3,375,543.97 were distributed during July-December 2005 by the Catholic Community Foundation in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. During calendar year 2005, a total of $5.9 million in grants were made by the Foundation to support the spiritual, educational and social needs of the community.
Of the $3.4 million distributed during the past six months, 40% of the grant money went to support education, 9% to fund social services, 5% to parishes, 9% to seminaries, and 37% to other religious organizations.
Grant distributions are from endowments, donor advised funds and other funds of the Foundation. A complete list of grants is shown below. When more than one distribution has been made to an organization, the total number of distributions is noted in parentheses.

The Catholic Community Foundation (www.catholiccommunityfoundation.org) is the nation’s largest community foundation serving Catholic philanthropy. The Foundation was established in 1992 to support financially the spiritual, educational and social needs of the Catholic community in the 12 county area of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. The Foundation currently manages assets in excess of $160 million and has distributed $45 million in grants to the community since inception.
The Foundation works with donors to help them capitalize on the benefits of charitable planned giving, including the ability to reduce their taxes, receive a life income from their gift and leave a legacy for generations to come. Some 2,000 families have chosen to conduct their philanthropy with the Catholic Community Foundation by setting up donor advised funds, endowments, charitable gift annuities and trusts.
